Top 5 mountains in Cebu

OSMEÑA PEAK 

Resembling the famous Chocolate Hills of Bohol, Osmeña Peak is the highest peak in Cebu at 1,013 meters above sea level. Once on top, one can see Badian Island and Moalboal’s Pescador Island. The province of Negros is also visible on a clear day. Situated in the municipality of Dalaguete, planting vegetables. Ride a bus from South Bus terminal and tell the driver to drop you o at the Mantalongon the base of the peak. The climb takes less than an hour with an easy trail. Guides are also an option. 

MOUNT KAN-IRAG 

Also known as Sirao Peak, this mountain is reachable via an easy not a particularly high one, but none less the challenge starting out with an easy trail, starting from Ayala heights in Busay. At 780 meters, the peak is not a particularly high one, but none less the challenge starting out with a river trek in Barangay Talamban, then a stop at Kabang Falls. With all its dangerous boulders, wide and thick jungle the top make it worth the struggle. 

MOUNT LANAYA 

Nestled in the mountain ranges of the western side of Southern Cebu, right next to Badian is the town of Alegria,  home of Mount Lanaya. It stands 700 meters above sea level and offers a view of theTañon Strait and the neighboring island of Negros. From the ranges of Mt. Lanaya, one can spend a night at their campsite and spend the rest of the second day visiting Alegria’s beaches, or go canyoneering from Kanlaob River to Kawasan Falls. 

MOUNT MANUNGGAL 

Located in Barangay Magsaysay, Balamban, Mount Manunggal rises 1,003 meters above sea level, making it central Cebu’s highest peak. The mountain is accessible via the road connected to Cebu Transcentral Highway at Barangay Gaas. It has established campsites, a few stores and even bathrooms for hikers’ convenience. The peak offers more than just a mesmerizing wonderful view with beautiful pines that surround: Aside from its amazing view, the peak is known as the site where the presidential plane carrying former Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay crashed and met his tragic death. 

MOUNT KAPAYAS 

Located in Sitio Kampanya, Barangay Kabangkaya in Catmon is Mount Kapayas. Also known as Lantawan Peak or Torre Peak, it’s highestpoint is made of limestone rocks. At the peak, a 360 degree breathtaking viewof the surroundings, including the beautiful islands of Negros and Bohol. approximately an hour or more from the town proper because of the rough roads.
